Axiom
A local-first AI assistant and agentic workspace for Windows. Choose on-device GGUF models, a self-hosted OpenAI-compatible Hybrid Local endpoint, or optional OpenRouter models with your own API key.
Normal Chat includes tools, attachments, vision input, web research, code execution, Skills, and Plugins. Workplace offers Council and Single Model workflows for longer engineering work.
02 · Terminal coding agent
Axiom CLI
A cross-platform terminal coding agent with two runtimes: Axiom's Architect / Builder / Critic council and Axiom Code, its OpenCode-powered agent runtime. Your files, shell, tests, and Git remain on the computer where you run it.
axiom --engine opencode — launch Axiom Code in a project, backed by Kestrel 1 or another configured endpoint.
Bring your own hardware
Both Axiom and Axiom CLI can point at a self-hosted, OpenAI-compatible inference endpoint instead of or alongside cloud models. Axiom uses Hybrid Local; Axiom CLI uses axiom connect for Kestrel 1. Kestrel 1 can safely switch between Gemma 4 12B IT (vision, verified 262,144-token context on this 12 GB GPU) and OmniCoder-2-9B Q5_K_M (262,144-token context); only the selected model is loaded at a time.
